Maybe the iPhone is meant to be a double handed phone and I'm just used to my old phones were I can whip it out and check my call log or change a setting with one hand. But when navigating menus the choice for the back button in the upper left corner makes it impossible to hit the back button without stretching my thumb on my right hand all the way across the phone. If the navigation was at the bottom instead it would provide much nicer usability (The google maps app is an example of how well this could work). The only time I had to double hand the Nokia was when I was typing and flipped it out to reveal both sides of the keyboard.

I'm going to try to take some pictures of what I like and don't like on the UI.

I think most of the flaws you point to will fade with familiarity, and most of the positives you point to will persist. Text entry, for instance, annoyed the crap out of me when I first got the phone, but now I find it very convenient. With the addition of Exchange support, I now use it for work email, too, and will routinely hold entire conversations just tapping away on the soft-pad. Give it another week, then see how it feels.

I'd like to hear more, however, about how the UI annoys you. I don't find errant touches (like the back button problem you point out) to be much of a problem. Also, I'm frankly happy for the lack of cluttered interface that would occur if Apple hadn't really committed to the touchscreen. I'm glad there's not other inputs. What else don't you like?

Since Lynn mandates that every fanboi post end with something negative, I will offer you this... yes, the inability to sync with multiple machines sucks.
